David Morris highlights its legacy of colour at Haute Couture Week

This January, David Morris unveils Legacy of Colour, a High Jewellery collection celebrating the House’s instinctive understanding of rare coloured diamonds and gems.

Drawn from an unparalleled inventory assembled over decades, the collection brings together once-in-a- lifetime discoveries, historic gems and signature colour pairings, with an emphasis on character, contrast and individuality. Legacy of Colour is an exploration of colour in its most powerful forms. From the fiery glow of a Padparadscha sapphire to the House’s iconic pink diamonds, each creation reflects David Morris’ desire to push beyond convention, presenting the world’s rarest coloured stones as the House has always done, with originality, courage and a constant drive to move High Jewellery forward.

From the earliest years, rare emeralds, sapphires and rubies formed the backbone of David Morris High Jewellery. That foundation has remained constant, even as its expression has evolved.

Under the creative direction of Jeremy Morris, colour has taken on a more distinctive role. With a deep respect for exceptional stones and an artist’s eye for colour, Jeremy Morris has broadened the David Morris palette, embracing vivid pink diamonds, Paraiba tourmalines, Padparadscha sapphires, cobalt blue spinels and a wide spectrum of other extraordinary coloured gemstones.

The Kismet earrings bring together two of the rarest gems in High Jewellery.

Their name reflects the chance discovery of two natural pearls of this calibre and compatibility. They feature two exceptional pearls, each weighing over 20 carats, deliberately mismatched in tone – one greyish-brown, the other a luminous white. Suspended beneath a painterly arrangement of Fancy yellow, pink, blue, orange and grey diamonds, alongside an exceptionally rare natural red diamond, the earrings embrace asymmetry as an integral part of the design.

Ultimately, Legacy of Colour is built on the belief that colour should lead, not follow.

“I’ve never been interested in playing it safe with colour,” says Jeremy Morris. “Legacy of Colour comes from years spent travelling, sourcing and living with extraordinary gemstones. That experience allows us to take this instinct further with each new High Jewellery creation.”
